Aircraft Rentals

I'm wanting to know where I can find more information on privately owned aircrafts that could be rented in the Toronto area. I'm just looking at doing x-country build up time. If anyone has any information i'd greatly appreciate it.

I've been looking for something similar for almost 10 years...
the problem before was private insurance generally didn't allow for that.
now with the "post sept 11th" insurance attitudes and rates, I am sure it is even less likely.

Please let me know if you find a lead though.

This is the best link that I have found, never talked to many people thought, but did have a great guy offer me to rent his SR22 at cost, trouble was that he is in Alberta.

There are lots of great folks flying and willing the share their time, planes and knowledge; finding them is that difficult part.

Smooth I personally have been approached many times by guys like yourself and I would love to help people out but the insurance is a killer now a days! A buddy of mine used to lease back a float plane to a school but had to pull it because of the insurance premiums.

Hell I even had to take my own father off the policy because of his age he was almost doubling my premiums. Guess like everything else in aviation it just keeps getting more expensive.

I'll keep my ears open for you if I happen to hear of any of the other owners around would be interested in renting their planes.

N2,

Sorry for not responding earlier..Thanks for the info. I really appreciate you keeping a look out for me.. I love being in the aviation family, small yet very open and friendly =)

I don't know if your still looking, but if you are, give a stop into the front desk at Toronto Airways in Markham. (CYKZ) Last time I was there (mind you that was in August) there were adds posted in the lounge where the Wx Kiosk is for people looking to share time on a Mooney and a Aztec, (I can't speak for prices or A/C conditions, I never called for more info, was leaving town) There might have been a few others, I can't recall for certain.

I believe there may have been one or two private owners on South side of the field who were interested in doing the same (a twin commander comes to mind, but again I can't say for sure) . I would say you could ask one of my fellow ex-rampies, they might know if anyone is looking to sell shares or split time.
