From the AA M&R CBA:

It is the company’s current plan to contract out additional Base work, including the following:
B777 Main Base Visit
B767 SIP, Fail Safe
B757 Heavy Check
B757 Mid Check
Main Cabin Extra Special Visits – All Fleets
B737 Air Data Probe ASB/AD (portion of fleet)
Peak Base Visits regardless of fleet or engine type; for example, where a full check line cannot be supported
Associated back shop work in support of the above.
Window shop and Blade and Vane Shop.

I never said I was an expert, but I do know how to read a CBA and understand it.

And I do know my labor history.

I don't know who will do the heavy checks on the new AA single-aisle Airbus, but there is one thing of which I am certain:   nothing in the news noted by the OP reveals anything about who will do that work.   It's just news about who will finance the planes that AA will lease.

For what it's worth, I never believed the urban legend that Airbus would take back six year old A319s and A321s and replace them with brand new builds.   That doesn't sound like reality.

They go back and get re-leased or sold. South America is a huge market for the A320 family aircraft. Years back it was Boeing and McDonnell products being sold to south America. Now it is Airbus products.

Your are correct AA has done no airbus narrow body C checks because we never had them. USAir has them and they have been farmed out for years. At least AA kept all heavies in house until the BK filing. How many heavies has USAir been doing compared to AA? And I mean HEAVIES not a 4 day drop in maintenance visit.  It makes no difference anymore because the New AA has changed the way we do business.

Your living In the Past! Every legacy airline did overhaul in-house. AA was just late do the dance. If you think DUI Douggie is has changed things you are only seeing the tip of the iceberg!

That would be us getting all the parts necessary for the checks, not pulling paperwork.

Total seat ship sets and every other part needed for the overhaul was pulled in advance by us Stock Clerks.

That would be planners who assembled the paperwork and order all the parts from Stores.

Dont let the facts get in your way.
It was a joke. Get over yourself.
