Anyone in CCY or management know what the official company ratio of kiosk agents to kiosks is supposed to be for staffing? 1-4/1-6/1-8? I know the sars will be everywhere in the bigger stations soon, but in the meantime.....

Thanks for the info. The reason I was asking is we have 8 kiosks and there are several times during the day we have 1 agent staffed to man all 8 of them! You get your exercise hopping from behind the counter to tag bags to going out front to help people with using the machine. During the time there is 1 agent to man them, any problem at all and the people have to go get in the other line, which isnt supposed to happen, but you get too far behind the curve if you try to assist them. I was just wondering if we were understaffed for them or if this is what CCY really expected for people to experience when using them.

Tad,

Originally the ratio was 1 agent for every 2 kiosks. We were told that the kiosk was job security and if our usage number didn''t increase we were going to loose an agent. So we boosted the usage to around 50% and were rewarded with two more kiosks. We said great because we thought we would get and agent back from furlough. Well low and behold, we were told that the new ratio is now 1 agent for every 3 kiosks. Very fitting for this management team. They even have the local managers believing that what they say is true. LIE, LIE, LIE and don''t worry because they account to no one for their ruthless actions.

Gee, I thought I had it bad. Check in, handle PDQ''s, and watch for bag tags coming from 4 kiosk''s machines. Who gets to wait, the PDQ customer or the kiosk''s customer. I feel like a puppet on a string.

Hopping over a bag well on a regular basis is an unsafe activity. Per the latest US Airways update, the company is doing a major safety push, with the goal of ''0'' workplace injuries.

In the spirit of cooperation, suggest solutions to this problem to your CSM, such as cutting out the bag well to make a walkway.

If your CSM is non-responsive (that''d be a surprise, right?), have your steward begin a paperwork trail something like this;

1. GSR (Ground Safety Report)
If still no joy,

2. Grievance
Expedite this one;have your steward keep the paperwork moving pronto

3. Along about step II of the grievance, a union rep needs to inform OSHA of a workplace hazard.

You probably won''t get results soon, but you will get them.

Didn''t you know that this is part of the company''s new and improved "step aerobics" program. Only thing missing is the music....

Cute, very cute!

Spoke to a Philly agent today. He was working kiosk all by himself the other day in Philly. All eighteen of them...so I guess the acceptable ratio is 1 to 18...

The customers are getting annoyed. Hopefully none of them will go " Airlinal "

Thanks CCY...USAirways Customer No Service.

This is just step 1. In step 2 you will be boarding the flights at the same time. Step 3 you will take baggage claim while performing your kiosk duties and boarding your flights. I think they are currently doing man power test runs on the ramp in PHL.

This has already been mentioned to the manager and of course no action yet. I dont know if the response was a US problem or airport problem. One of the bagwells is loose and if you step on it just right, it comes up in the back and can throw someone off into the floor on their keister. I guess they''re just waiting for this to happen so they can have another claim to deny for OJI or FMLA for butt injury.
I will have to ask about this again though since it is very unsafe. And if you get everyone hitting the screen at the right time you can get a good rhythm going on the beeps.
