AA plans to have OW partners move into T8 JFK

Art Torno American's vice president for New York said in an article for "TheStreet". That American has a competitive advantage with its $1.3 billion JFK terminal and plans over time to move its alliance partners British Airways and Iberia into the terminal as well. Additionally, if a trans-Pacific joint venture with JAL is approved, that carrier would also be expected to move to the American terminal.

I assume or hope they will do the same in MIA. Move BA, LAN, and Iberia to The D concourse or would that make to much sense :blink:

Will that involve actually building out T8 to it's initial vision or just using existing gate space?

American Airlines is in advanced talks to bring its alliance partners British Airways and Iberia Lineas Aereas de Espana into a renovated terminal at New York's Kennedy airport to bolster overseas flights. "It will require expansion and will be significant in terms of investment," Art Torno, the vice president overseeing American's New York operations, said in an interview. "When we finish that terminal, it will be a watermark for everyone to shoot for."

thats original plan for the T8 now it will look little different.
 
Very nice. This is clearly the way to go now that the antitrust deals are done and BA and Iberia are merging. The ground costs (agents, lounges, support staff) can be shared. This is what LAX basically forced the airlines to do at the Bradley International Terminal with the shared business and first class lounges that serve all airlines. It is more space efficient and much cheaper.
