Let me try this again....I was responding to eolesen statement regarding AA and UA possibly getting a sweetheart deal out of their kicking in somewhat for the runway project at ORD.Employees maybe?
Did you ever think that if AA and UA don't keep companies like VX etc. out of ORD then AA employees will pay for it? Entry of VX into ORD would be a huge reason for AMR to demand even more concessions and your union would most likely agree/cave in first. On the other hand you're already used to givnng concessions so in a way it may be a wasted effort.
Nice try, Hopeful. Assuming the runways get built, AA and UA are still going to be the prime beneficiaries, and the employees payoff will be the paychecks they get from working all the flights going in and out of ORD on UA and AA metal.
It's certainly a better deal than what's been brewing in New York, where the incumbents stand to be losing 10% of their current flights. Without the runways, what's to stop the FAA from taking away 10% each from AA and UA?....
