Aa Fires Salvo At Dl

Seems like the 717 may have been a plane ahead of its time. I would like to have seen AA keep the plane and buy more of them. It's a bit heavier, but it seems like it's very competitive with the E190 which is being hailed as such a great new aircraft.

Of course, it seems like carriers are going to try to make the E190 an "express" airplane - something they would not have tried with the 717. Still, the 717 may turn out to be a better buy in the end. I would imagine it's the type of plane that will still be flying in 20 years - not so sure that we'll be seeing 20-year-old E-jets in the sky.

DFW-BUF on a CRJ-700? Niiiice...my legs and back ache just thinking about that.
STL-BOS/STL-JFK on a ER135? Sweeeet.
LGA-ATL/LGA-CLT on ER135's? Good Work.

Does Walter Aue or any of the other gods of planning ride RJ's on segments of this length before they decide our passengers will?

What about XNA-LAX on the CR7? That's over 100 air miles further than DFW-BUF! Personally, if not highly medicated, I would have to open a vein!
