Aa Fined Over Woman's Death

She should have bought more medicine when she arrived in Guyana and her bag didn't. Too bad for her. Fortunately, the court agrees with me, and sent that issue back to the lower court to determine how much of her death was her own fault.

Count on it. Of all the ways I will probably die, I can guantee you that it won't be because I was so stupid as to have checked a bag containing lifesaving medication or because I was so stupid as to have not replaced the medication when I arrived at my destination without my meds.

Do you watch Airline? Last season a stupid family at LAX checked an old woman's suitcase containing medicine they claimed she couldn't do without. Of course, they missed their flight but somehow the suitcase didn't and went to the East coast without her. All the flights were booked solid and they wouldn't get to fly til the next day. The WN agent claimed there was no way they would buy her and her family seats on another airline but finally relented and routed them on HP. The family acted like major league a-holes and WN went above and beyond for them. Everyone watching that episode at my house said:

1. They were morons for checking medicine she needed to live.

2. They were morons for failing to realize that pharmacies sell medicine (even in LA) and they could have simply obtained replacement meds for the old woman. Lots of pharmacies near LAX.

Not all morons cause or contribute to their own death in spectacular displays of darwinism; sometimes they do it quietly (like by failing to replace lost meds). Then their family gets to sue a party or parties not actually responsible for their loved one's death.

First we lose the elderly making connections and now we deny them their medical equipment. I swear, this company has the compassion and warmth of a snowball.

Don't get carried away. They can't even prove it was an AA employee who required she check her bag. Its simply a matter of AA having "deep pockets" therefore AA is Guilty!!

My heart goes out to the family. My one question is why was the bag checked in the first place? Was the reason she had too many carry-ons, was the bag to big, did the bag contain oxygen bottles, or was she the last one on and the bins were full? just wondering.......

Notice which court they tried this case? The most liberal, socialist court in the entire country.

The really sad thing about this is that AA will probably payoff on the decision to make it go away.
