AA Credit Union -- worth joining?

Do not let the AA vs. TWA argument spill over into this thread. The topic is the credit union. Posts have been deleted. Any more such sniping will earn time off.

I don't care for the AA credit union. I think it is run like a general store and not the bank it should be. Join the credit union just to have an account, but do your real banking elsewhere.

I am curious what issues you had/have with them. I have been doing all my banking with them since I started with AA and would never go to a regular bank unless something changes at the AAFCU

Like others,

My experience has been: promises made, promises kept.

The loan rates are better than average, the service well above par.

I use a traditional bank for the day-to-day so the issue of bank-checks is a non-issue for me.

Tell us, what can you get at a "real" bank that you can't get at the credit union?

I don't think any credit unions had to be bailed out by the government.
