NEW YORK, Oct 7 (Reuters) - Discount air carrier JetBlue Airways Corp. (JBLU) said on Monday its passenger load factor, which measures the percentage of filled seats on airlines, soared 16.3 percentage points to 75.8 percent in September.
The company said overall passenger traffic, which is measured in revenue passenger miles, rose 116 percent. Capacity, the number of seats the airline makes available to passengers, rose 103.5 percent.
JetBlue''s September numbers benefited from an easy year-ago comparison, when airline traffic was decimated in the immediate aftermath of the the Sept. 11 attacks on the United States.
