Point of clarification, AA doesn't charge you $30, Gogo charges you $30. Complain to them about over charging you. Also, only you are stopping yourself from purchasing a first class seat or MCE. So if you are "jammin yourself in a tin can" that is your fault.
WOW again, this is proof that idiots like you should not be serving the public! I have flown over 2,500 times in my life (1.4M million USA/AA) and I have run into a few of your type over the years but admittedly not too much on AA. Mostly see that angry type on UA. As for GOGO of course I know that but whoever is providing the service on SW only charges $8. I shouldn't have to pay 1st class fares to get a reasonable amount of legroom. Most Airlines are only profitable now because the government has allowed all of the mergers and they allow you to collude on airfares. Whereas SW (which I have only flown once) has understood how to make money all along.
You really should consider another occupation or take anger management training.

As you keep talking jack f I'm amazed that you yourself found the airport on all those occasions you boast about flying. Again, people who like to have extra space usually get the idea that they need to pay for it. If you feel you shouldn't have to pay extra for it, so be it. I won't lose a millisecond of sleep about your "issues". You have options, you just need to decide which option works best for you.

As a passenger (not an employee), I agree 100%. If you want the extra space, just pay for it. There are really good advanced purchase first and business fares these days on most routes if you plan a little ahead, which avoids the hassle of hoping for an upgrade.

Do you fly first class, coach, or the extra legroom in coach? What is your occupation, I would like to know what free stuff I can get from you please, while I yell at you with my cell phone video recording everything.

One reason airlines are making so much is, over a decade of pay and benefit cuts and the oss of our retirement medical and a freezing of our retirement. The mechanics of AA have yet to get a contract after taking major cuts in 2003.

You do realize is cheaper to fly now than in 1973? The customer has spoken ...they want cheap fares avail. Take it up with them!!

What Southwest has done much better than any other airlines is manage customer expectations and train them on the process and procedures. BTW when I buy a ticket I always look at SWA first and guess what I haven't flown them in over 5 years, becuase they were always considerable more expensive. But if you poll their passangers they think they are getting a huge deal on price.

While I can't speak for jim I bet he sees many passengers that amazes him how they found the airport
You musta been readin' my mind. On my last trip on April schedule, I made the observation to another flight attendant that some of our passengers shouldn't be traveling without adult supervision. And, I was not talking about unaccompanied minors.

I just love you people. You are in an industry that for the most part doesn't know how to make money unless the government allows you to collude in pricing, go through multiple bankrupticies to avoid paying your bills so you can start over and allows you to merge and after all that you hate your customers. I just flew from Philly to St Louis for over $600. Do you consider that cheap?

I fly AA almost exclusively because I'm a hostage in Philly. SW doesn't charger $200 to change fight schedules and doesn't charge for the first two bags and they like there customers

I absolutely do feel for you folks that have been on the short end of the stick with your companies that have used the bankruptcy laws to have you and the American people as well as the suppliers who your companies screwed (your customers) take a hit but you really need to stop taking it out on your customers. As for my occupation I sell to large cable companies and phone companies and I can tell you it is no bed of roses.

WOW again!! Do you think that every one of your customers who sits in coach is a moron? Boast about flying? Im not boasting I was simply trying to make the point that I have flown more then once a year. The venom that comes from some of you is nothing short of amazing. It's too bad there isn't a way to weed your type out.

Well, considering that if you were doing a cross country flight on WN, there would more than likely be at least 3 separate legs. At $8/leg, that's $24. Not that much cheaper. And, there would be no meal of any kind. On a cross country flight that can be brutal. Don't get me wrong. I'm a great admirer of WN, but we are not talking about the same sort of airline or business philosophy. As I said, WN' makes it very clear that they are selling you transportation from Point A to Point B. That's all. My point is not that WN is any less, it's that passenger want all the amenities that AA used to provide, but they want them for free.

For instance, on my last trip, during boarding a couple (mid-50s) came on and while the wife was standing in the aisle in First Class she complained that the airplane was cold. She was dressed in shorts and a halter top. She asked for (I'm trying hard not to say demanded) a blanket. As they were coach passengers, blankets are not available. This is not a new restriction of amenities. We haven't had blankets in coach since shortly after 9/11. The husband pointed out that all of the F/C seats had blankets, and I responded that yes the F/C seats have blankets. He didn't say anything further, but you should have seen the look he gave me. He was highly offended that coach passengers did not get blankets. Oh well, that's one of the reasons why it's called First Class and why people pay a lot of money to sit there.

I'm not trying to justify the reduction in pitch between the rows or the addition of seats on an airplane that is already jampacked full of seats, but you know the company didn't ask for my input on that decision. You as a passenger also have a decision to make. Will you accept the lessening of your personal space, or will you quit flying American Airlines? Nobody at AA is forcing you, and one of the nice things about a free-market democracy is that we have choices.
To Jimntx, I appreciate your very politely stated point of view, quite different form some others. There are certainly some customers who act like they expect things for free (I'm not one of them) but I do expect a decent amount of leg space on an AA flight. I happen to think that most of your aircraft do have reasonable room in coach but when you start reducing to space comparable to Spirit's that's where I complain. You are not as cheap as Spirit or Frontier but I choose not to fly them.

jack AA is only reducing the last 3 or so rows on the 737 MAX I do believe UA is doing the same if not contemplating on doing it and I don't know if it will be all the 737 MAX but it will be on the routes where they compete with Spirit. When you fly out of PHL do you price check AA vs the other airlines?

The next generation of 737s, the MAX are all going to be longer than the current generation. In the case of the 737-10 it will be much longer. 19 feet longer to be exact. Also, rumor has it that they are reducing the F/C cabin from 16 to 12 seats. So, that will provide more room for the additional seats in Main Cabin.

in all fairness Jack if your flying out of PHL that technically is uscare air, not AA. but fear not we are being dragged down to their level of shitty service and attitude.
