Delta passes Southwest as top RDU carrier

Delta Airlines overtook Southwest Airlines as Raleigh-Durham International Airports' top carrier in January, according to traffic figures released Thursday at the RDU Airport Authority's monthly meeting.

Yes, but...

WN: 20 daily RDU departures (737). 2740 available seats/day. If any of the flights are on -500s (no -200s in RDU) the figure will be less.

DL: 14 daily mainline departures (12 MD-80, 2 757), and 24(!) DL Connection departures (14 CRJ, 5 ERJ, 5FRJ). Roughly 3175 available seats/day.

..and yet for the entire month they only managed to board 119 more passengers despite having substantially more capacity. Not all that impressive.
