When ATL was announced, Neeleman mentioned how underserved the ATL market was in regards to low fare service (Airtran not withstanding).
How is it that now JetBlue is pulling out? Did Song and Delta mainline present much more formidable competition than was expected? I'm assuming that David Neeleman didn't expect Delta/Song to just roll over and die. He must have anticipated a response from them.
So the question quickly becomes, what happened? Did the magic, JetBlue effect not materialize or what?
