What's Going On In Clt?

Just received this email from a friend. "....the US Air Signage - even the cloth backgrounds have been taken down from a number of the CLT gates. Also, gate agent commented that some reps from CO had been scouting the area." Anybody know anything?

Would that mean that the company may sell some or all of the slots to CO?
Would that also spell the end of an era with USAIRWAYS? at least I have heard that if usair sold clt or phl we are done with. any truth to it?

Slots in CLT? What slots? CLT isn't a slot controlled airport. The most we could do is sub-lease gate space, but gate space in CLT is a premium already. My thinking would be that IF the "rumor" is true it would be a while before there was a schedule in place to afford us teh ability to sub-lease gates. My thinking is that they may be doing some remodeling, cleaning, or something of that nature.

NOT BY HALF !!!.......have you noted any CLT Employees confirming any of this yet?....and if confirmation does come? Is it a simple matter of "Housekeeping"?

I'm sure CLT Airport Director Jerry Orr would have some profound comments on this subject , if something was in fact going on that would impact CLT as a whole.

Because all of the events of the last week have nerves on edge and everyone is unsettled. You have to remember to take a deep breath, look at the supposed events and see if they make sense.

Eliminating gates in CLT - without a reduction of the flying schedule - isn't going to happen. We use nearly every gate in CLT on almost every bank as it is.

Breath people! Deep breath.......now relax!!!!!

Don't let things like a rumor like this get you stirred up....
