What is you F/A Staffing per a/c type?

I'm curious about your inflight staffing.
Just about all of our domestic flights are
minimum crew.
A319/320- 3FAs
A321/B-757 4FAs
B737-300/400 3FAs
B767=200- 5FAs
A330-300 8FAs
International flights usually carry 1 extra on
the A330,B767, and the 757 aircraft.
Usually it is a foreign language speaker but
not invariably.

I'm with America West/US Airways-or USAirways West for those PHX/LAS based.
We are supposed to be receiving the A330-200 at some point but I have idea as how they will be staffed.

Like all the other planes, FAA minimum FAs onboard.

Our (and your) A330's are staffed with 9 f/a's...3 in biz, 6 in economy.
BTW, when we first got the A330, it was stafffed with 13 flight attendants in a three class configuration....2 in first, 5 in biz, and 6 in economy. After economic downturns and 9/11, we went down to no first class, 5 in biz and 5 in economy. Then cutbacks in biz class took it down to 4 in biz and 5 in economy. With taking out 12 biz class seats and adding about 35 economy seats and biz havingg only 29 seats, the company went to the 3/6 staffing. There was a time they wanted it down to 8, but the union highly ecouraged them to not do that as they were setting themselves up for cancellations should just one f/a became injured or sick.

I think the chances of you seeing the A350 or the 787...depending on what we get in the future....are much greater. The A330 was an absolute joy to work with the 3 classes and superior staffing. Now it is and will always be just a big airplane workhorse with TOO many customers and too FEW f/a's.

As a sidenote, when I first started, the 737-300/400 was staffed with 4 f/a's, the 757 with 6 f/a's, and the 767-200 with 7...8 for t/a. Now it's min. staffing.

The 400's were frequently staffed with 5 F/A's, especially on a meal service flight. The 5th F/A sat in either 23 or 24D.

I was talking about standard staffing, but yes you are correct. Those were the days! Now it all just SUCKS!!

The shame of US? They were the company many CAL wish they worked for. Now they are thankful they stayed with CAL. <_<
 
I seem to remember flying a US 737-400 in the 90s with a full meal service and 5 FAs. Today, whenever I fly US, I am fortunate to have a A who does more than sit in the back and gripe about A, B, or C for the entire flight.

I flew US PHX-LAS (A-319) in November - The FAs were waiting for the plane to pull in from BUR... They were sitting along the window sill saying the first thing they will do when they get to LAS is get their hair and nails done at Ceasar's Palace and then go to a bar to relax after having to deal with so many "ass hole c*^ts." Very professional!! They then complained about their salaries... but getting their hair and nails done at Ceasar's.

Just as a note, I have two friends who work for US/West as FAs and both do not display this abysmal work ethic. They are quite the opposite, actually. Just thought I'd share.

I was non-reving the flight, so the price was right, and I am pretty sure the FAs didn't know I was listing in. I had an ipod on, but had just turned it off when the conversation started. I left the ear-buds in so I could listen in conspicuously 🙂 🙂

Yeah 3 f/a's on one flight (whether east or west) represents all 10,000 f/a's?

And yes we did have 5 f/a's on a 737-400 meal flight.

Well guess what, if the plane was coming in from Burbank then the crew you were listening to an America West (sorry, US West) crew. No US Airways metal flies into Burbank.

And now, probably anyone at US wishes he/she were at CO. How things have changed. It's been a while since I've read "From Worst to First"; maybe it's time for reread.
 
Again, I know a few US/West f/a's and this is not to say all US fa's are such a-holes. However, it does show that company morale could be --- ehhhh ---- better.
