Just got word that box 3 and maybe 5 are wrong on our W2's ... I already filed as lot others I bet.
They better pay all the amendments.


My pay check has never had a mistake in 25 years until these jug heads took over now I have to check everything. Not only were the W2's late they are wrong.

I think you may be correct...my last paycheck shows the local wage is correct but boxes 3,5 and 16 may be off..man how idiotic if true.

Box 3 is SS wages, box 5 is medicare wages.

Yup, the company will be sending out a W-2c within the next couple of weeks., but they're very sorry for the inconvenience.

Looking back at last year's W-2 actually appears to be correct. Box 1 is total minus 401k and local wage is slightly higher than Social Security etc. boxes..3, 5 and 16.

Memo came out Today. The 1300 employees that received incorrect W2's, were notified by letter to their home address. Every one else received correct W2's. If you did not receive a letter regarding this matter, then consider your W2 correct.

What a joke.

But it's not all that bad.

If you were one of the 1300 who got a bogus W2 and ALREADY filed, then insist that the company pay your tax prep fees to file a 1040X (ammended 1040). Some people do it themselves, some use Turbotax, some hire an accountant. The company should be responsible for making this as effortless on your part, and you shouldn't have to spend a dime of your own money to do it.

If you didn't file already, or have a tax preparer begin, then there's really no harm done.

I reiterate: I hope the maintenance department does a better job of minding its Ps and Qs.

Back in my day, mistakes simply were not allowed. They seem to occur with alarming regularity with this bunch of cowpokes.

Box 3 Issues, Letters Mailed
Recently a letter was sent to 1,350 employees that box 3 on their W-2 was incorrect. Word has spread that the box 3 on everyone’s W-2 contains incorrect information. I just got my W2.

I left the company in May 2006. At least they got the amount right - 0.00
However they got my employee number wrong.
