US ready to allow open time flying for all bases?

new option posted on catcrew. It allows viewing of all open time in all bases.

I believe AWA flight crew is allowed to pick up trips from either west coast base if time is open. Is this true? If true, does AWA give any help in commuting to that trip?

If they do allow us to pick up open time anywhere wouldn't this take care of new hiring in PHX?

We've got reserves sitting on the east coast. They would jump at the chance to pick up open time.

West coast commuters would also pick up open time and give up east trips.

Someone must know why the new option and the plan for it.

Well to begin with - if they were to allow pickng up a trip on the west coast from an east coast crew mwmber you would have to go through their training program b/c we are under two certificates, therefore that is extreme wishful thinking at its best but maybe from the east coast bases.

Perhaps it is there because in the not to distant future there will be one certificate? Sometime IT actually manages to be ahead of the curve.

Posibly but from what i hear it will be 2008 , they cant wait that long for people b/c their attr. rate is too high, who knows though, we seem to be the last to know.....

Option 44 is not a new option, it's been there for years. It is in addition to option 11 except it is formatted differently.

I have heard from several people that HP is impressed with our CATCREW system. Perhaps they are looking into changing their Crew Tracking system to ours, but operate under a different partition. It could be a set up to see if the system is capable of handleing how HP schedules crews.

Just a thought.
