According to this article "America West" will be vacating it's gate in terminal 2 by the end of this month. I assume this refers to the single E gate. Will US get an additional F gate to make up the difference? It is already packed in the F area with most people waiting for a flight having to stand outside the small gate areas.

I have talked to the station manager at ORD. I was told that US subleases a few gates in that concourse to UA express and US holds the lease to some of the gates that UA express has. I believe the gates US subleases to are F6 F12 and one other I can't remember. According to the manager they have 6 gates but only use 2. I know the same goes in ATL. US subleases a few gates in the D councourse to Delta express.
For the time that US has it's DCA ORD service US shared the F6 gate with UA when US needed it while F8 and F10 were occupied.
