US Airways filed its March Operating Report with the bankruptcy court, which is available on the paid portion of the Donlin, Recano, and Company, Inc. website, docket number 2111. Normally the report will be made public site shortly after the court filing, which BoeingBoy normally posts on USaviation.com.

The report indicates US Airways had $19.3 million in operating income and $65.1 million in net income for the month of March.

In addition, a note says that the gain in January related to penions has been set aside because of claims filed by the PBGC, so the January - March monthly reports won't match the quarterly numbers filed with the SEC.

Profitable March for airline

CHARLOTTE (Observer) - US Airways made $65 million in net income in March, the first month it has turned a profit since filing for bankruptcy protection in September, the company said in a court filing.Last week, the airline reported a net loss for the quarter of $191 million. Detailed figures released Monday showed that March's gain was outweighed by heavy losses in January and February. In March, the airline said it made $19 million in operating income and also benefited from changes made in its bankruptcy reorganization.

Traditionally, US Airways' strongest quarter has been from April through June. March could have been especially strong this year because Easter fell in March instead of April, analysts said.
