WASHINGTON, July 20 (Reuters) - Screeners at U.S. airports will stop confiscating common cigarette lighters because authorities now consider them a distraction from efforts to find bombs and other threats, officials said on Friday.

How can it be that distracting?
Granted that is a lot of confiscated lighters, but I would think they could multi-task a little bit and not overlook the "bombs and other threats" while confiscating the personal fire starter!
