I just read what I interpret to be distressing news. It was on a US website called "AVWeb", a newsy sort of site not unlike this one. They made reference to the organizers of the Albequerque NM balloon fest having to obtain a waiver for foreign pilots to fly in US airspace. This waiver only applied to balloon pilots and just for this event. Do I understand correctly that we Canadian pilots cannot fly into the US unless we conduct a flight review under FAA rules or can we fly Canadian reg aircraft? Maybe this applies to flying US reg aircraft? Who knows but I thought we were on friendly terms with the US. What about commercial pilots especially on sched runs? I would think it would be expensive to have to do a flight review in every country you fly into. Does anybody know more about this?
