Im in the process of trying to tranfer from one department to another but I was told that I have to have a year in with the company before I can transfer (I currently have about 9 months). I asked not only the my Supervisor but the Station Manager if I could transfer, they both said that they would hate to lose me but beings Im a good employee with a perfect record that they wouldnt have a problem waiving the one year probation.
I talked to a co worker this morning and he told me he heard of an individual that wanted to do basically the same thing Im trying to do and even though he recieved Managements ok to transfer the People Department in Dallas rejected his IPA due to him not having the one year with the company.
I plan on going into work tomorrow and ask the Station Manager to call Dallas to make sure I can proceed, the last thing I want to do is get my hopes up only to be shot down at the last minute.
Also, does anyone have any suggestions on how to improve my chances on getting the job? Ive done several days in the field already and everyone in the new department seems to like me and my work ethic. I need this promotion more than you can possibly imagine.
