Verizon Wireless' Airfone Service to Allow Airplane Redirects

I saw this article this morning. It's probably a smart idea as it may induce some to switch their mobile phone service to Verizon. Personally, I'm a little disappointed. When the aircraft doors close, I get to be out of touch for a couple of hours and that's not always a bad thing.

Watch how fast air rage reemerges when they allow the use of cell phones and the redirect. I am sick and tired to listening to some yahoo gabber on his or her cell phone before the main door is closed. They always talk louder than normal and I don't want to hear about their business dealings.

No one is that important that they can't wait until they get off a plane to make a call. Whoever decided that the usage of cell phones on planes will be OK in a few years needs to have their head examined.

Imagine it!! A customer just gets a screaming baby asleep then a phone starts ringing....then the baby wakes up screaming....then the guy with the phone call starts screaming because the baby is screaming....now the dad of the baby is screaming at the ringing cell phone guy......now another phone rings.......and so on....and so on.....and so on..... it ain't perty!
