Everyone, US AIRWAYS Memo from A Very Close Person to Rick Oehme, VP Of Maintenance Phoenix AZ.

As most of you know, Rick was diagnosed with a brain tumor on Friday. He was operated on yesterday morning to remove the growth. The tumor was sent to pathology and the doctors will put a game plan together depending on the results. I just spoke with Mrs Oehme and she told me that as of this morning, Rick is doing better. He has been talking with family and he actually has gotten up and out of bed. It is certainly positive news. Visitation is still limited to family members due to the Doctors' concerns over colds, infections, etc.. Mrs Oehme would like to convey to all of you that Rick and the family appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers. She knows that all of you have conveyed these messages in your own special way. She asks that you still keep Rick in your prayers and to keep up the positive thoughts. Rick certainly has an uphill climb but I think that all of you know, that if anyone can do it, he can. I will try and update every few days or when there is important news.

Everyone,

Mrs Oehme said last night, Rick is recovering from the initial surgery very well.  He is talking to family, eating well, walking around and looking forward to going home.  He has also been moved out of ICU.  The doctors have said that he may be able to go home within the next two days, which is fantastic news.  Mrs Oehme again has asked me to convey to all of you, how much she and Rick appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers and to please keep the cards and letters coming.  Mrs Johnston is still collecting cards for Rick and we will make sure that all of these get to Rick and the family.  Mrs Johnston is keeping a list of those wishing to send flowers and will notify them when we get the o.k. from the family. The family still is requesting no visitors at this time.  As much as we are all well intended, the doctors feel that visitations will take too much out of him at this time. The priority going forward is getting Rick home and letting him concentrate totally on healing.  The sooner he gets stronger, the sooner he will be ready to take on any forthcoming challenges……. and that is of paramount importance.  Please keep Rick and his family in your thoughts.  I will put out another email when I have some additional news.
VP Tech Administration Thanks.

Just shows you that your life can be changed in an instant and that all the misery and complaining that goes on about your place of employment is trivial in comparison.
