"The act of a strike would result in an immediate shutdown of the airline," Chris Chiames, US Airways' senior vice president for corporate affairs.

Isn't this what they want. Shut down and reopen as MidAtlantic Airways. " The Grand Plan ". How long would it take. They have the pilots, and they have their ready reserves.

Glass, Chimes, Crellin, Lakefield...and Dr. Bonner....get lost.

I really wonder how the vote will go. Nah....

I forgot...

Respectfully...and sorry to be so negative.

I believe that this is Plan "B". If they can get everyone to fly “mainline metalâ€￾ with the reduced rates / concessions they will be more than happy to continue with business as usual. IF however US does liquidate, then I believe what you have stated is true.

What certificates are/will (be) available for use? Will they reopen with the current certificate or use another? Is Allegheny’s available?

Just curious…

I could be wrong, but I don't think MDA has a certificate...think they are operating under US certificate. Not sure about Allegheny, if it is current and just sitting there available. That would be appropiate though, if they shut down and then re-opened as "Agony Air"

The Allegheny Certificate is current, and in use. The tranfers of all remaining ALG pilots into PDT has been placed on hold until 05.

Read into it as you like...

Your are correct MDA is operating off of the U certificate. I would take a least 8 months or better to obtain their own.

Their grand plan is as follows, 1 Screw retirees 2 Screw employees 3 Stuff their own pockets full of cash!

Not so. The Allegheny operation is part of the Piedmont/old Henson certificate as of July1, 04. Completet operation under Piedmont ops is sheduled to be complete by Dec 5.

In theory, the old Trump Shuttle, Piedmont (original), PSA (original) and Allegheny (new) certificates could still exist. Heck, maybe even the old Mohawk certificate, too. Whether they do or not, I don't know. The "Statement of Financial Affairs" only listed one "Certificate of Convenience & Necessity" - presumably mainline.

"You can't lead from behind."

Seen on another board......We lack leaders, unfortunately.. I think it's too late for us(US).

Really sad......maybe " Sadistic "

 :censored:

How do you find out what certificates are around? I had heard that the Potonac Air/DCAir-to-be/MidAtlantic-to-be certificate expired... do they expire after a certain amount of time?

Shuttle Inc had thier own certificate until they merged in 2000. Is that one still around?

And how would one know for definate if Allegheny's is still being used or not? Are they surrendered to the Faa, kept in a drawer to expire, or what?

This comes up alot, so if anyone has any info please let us know.
