The base fare for CLT-HSV is $257 r/t.

So perhaps the guy was looking at a date where US was actually selling some inventory and the lowest fares were already sold out.

OTOH, I looked at DL''s fares for May 16-18 (3 week advance) and found them to be $380 round trip.

So, I''m starting to question the $200.00 fare quote.

Update: did an Orbitz search and US Airways nonstop CLT-HSV came up as the lowest fare at $280 r/t. DL''s connection was $284 r/t.

I was visiting a local merchant today to get an oil change and inspection, he knows I work for US Airways in CLT and asked me what is up with the fares?

He has to fly from CLT-HSV for a wedding he called US and they quoted him $448, if he flew out of GSO-CLT-HSV it was $200. So we lost another passenger to Delta. He got a fare of $200 from CLT-ATL-HSV.

I told him, well I don't work in that department, but you live in a hub city you will pay a premium.

What I don't understand is if DL is gonna sell the ticket for $200 and our CASMs are now lower then theirs, we need to match the price otherwise we will lose more passengers to the competition.
