Just returned from the 'BIG SCREEN'.
I don't think folks ever tire of a well made Vigilatne movie.  And This was a 'Well made' one.
Perhaps I'm a bit biased, since this was filmed in my ol' Boston Ma,...."Hood" !
Could have sworn I spied an old flame in one of the street scenes in East Boston. (Logan INTL. 3 or four blocks away... F Y I).
Do-Ra-Mi.....La-Ti-Do would not have 'lasted' 5 minutes there, once he open his 'yap'  !!!!!!!!!!!

dell. You would LOVE this flic' !

Seriously, I have never come across anyone who doesn't like Denzel as a person, or an actor !
Maybe that's because if they said they didn't like him, they'd be immediately labeled a racist.

It's a good thing everyone likes Oprah. Otherwise they'd be called misogynist racists.

I can 'take her, or leave her' (Oprah)., but she's got an agenda...aka.....a Phoney !

There are some very good black actors that are Above Reproach, Denzel Washington is one, James Earl Jones is another.  With those two, and some others,.....what you see,........is what you get !
Very confident people,......minus any Scandals.

We ain't talking   Jay-Z here !

Is there a reason you find it necessary to distinguish them as black actors first, versus just actors?

Come to think of it,......no.

I'm a SERIOUS movie-goer, and i tend to classify actors and actresses by distinguishing characteristics, such as mostly thier trade-mark type films they make.
Some examples are male white comedic, or hispanic female dramatic, perhaps gay male comedic. I think you catch my drift.
A futher example is the great actor Nathan Lane, who is white/male and 'usually plays a gay role.
I say usually, but on occasion Nathan Lane will play a straight role.

Bottom line,................." Nice try ERIC"    !!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Bear is not only OLD,....but Wise and Old !

According to what Bear quoted in post #4, Dell was the one who pointed out that Washington was black not Bear.  Why did you not comment on that?  Then of course there was your post #5.  No need to answer, I think we all know why.

Meh. I tend to think of them as comedians, without the need for a second label. Race, gender, or preferences are certainly part of their identity, but it's not what defines them.

Post #5 and #8 say BS.  Own it, don't own it. Your words, your conclusion.
