A great turn out at the Mechanics IP on July 22nd.  Joined in full support by the Pilots and F/A's to show the continued frustrations with the companies stall tactics.  4 years is way too long in these record upon record reporting profits.  There will be more videos coming next week as AMFA as well as the Pilots SWAPA union had huge media coverage. Here's an article from Dallas Morning news. Channel 5 and channel 11 were also there covering. Look for more next week:

Hi swamt,
Thanks for the updates and glad there was a great turnout.
GK does need to see the strength of the unions in
support of each other and the solidarity of the membership.
We're all looking forward to some good progress in the
negotiations. Plz keep us posted and as always
good luck to all of you. :)

Hey Sharon.  Thx for the good wishes and the same to you and your group.  We go back to the table for a 3 day session starting July 26-28, as well do the Pilots, but I think they start on the 25th. This time around we will find out if the company is ready to come to an agreement. The unions have been ready for quite some time, it's always been the company dragging their feet.  GK wanted to hold off on the big 3 unions at SWA to start focusing on the shareholders and he said he was mainly focusing on 15 and 16 for them.  Now that we allowed all that to happen it was time to show the company, the public and GK himself that it's time to "focus" back on the employees at SWA. The shareholders will continue to get great numbers as we still grow internationally and domestically as well as opening new cities.  Our 5 year contract that the co. wants actually will end up being a 10 year contract. They will get their 5 year pay freeze they wanted, then they want a 5 year contract after that.  It is now time to re-pay the employees for patiently waiting for the shareholders to be taken care of.  I will post an update as soon as I get one...
