Anyone know why US Club members will no longer be able to use the Red Carpet Clubs after September 1, 2004? usairways.com says this benefit is being discontinued!

Great, thanks. A poster on flyertalk.com said US pays for each visit by a US Club member to a Red Carpet Club. My suspicion is this cost is getting much higher for US than it is for UA (meaning US pays UA every month instead of having it balance out). I wonder if they're going to make Club access more like the Star Alliance, where Star Alliance Gold members can use a reciprocal club under very specific circumstances.

If cost is really an issue, I'd like to see US-UA negotiate an agreement where US elite members can buy a Red Carpet Club at the same rates UA charges its elite members, and vice versa. This is something I could swing quite easily at work.

I hope that US is doing something that will allow it's members access to the RCC via *A or something similar.

Failing that, well, I still remember what BBB tried to pull off last year.

Come on Bob, spill the beans about all those brownie points you are acquiring since the cockroaches started. I mean isn't this whole thing the ultimate Liar's Club? ;)

January statement? Why would they put something about the US Club in a statement sent to every DM member?

Since I have my statements sent via email I dont get anything snail mail from them. When someone gets theirs will you please post the answer so this employee (and FF) will have an answer to pass on?

I love how US posts on its web site that Red Carpet Club access is being discontinued, yet if there is apparently good news here Marketing waits to tell everyone. Meanwhile, FFs are getting pissed over on flyertalk.com (and those who don't post aren't happy either). Me thinks the news isn't that great ... and perhaps will look better in everyone's eyes given they are expecting the worst.

Email Dave directly and ask him whats up. Since he appearantly doesnt have anything to do until the unions agree to see his plan, he has plenty of time on his hands I would assume. :p

Hawk's been awfully quiet recently too, maybe he has some time to answer a PM.

LOL, well, apparently you do have an in with US management, seeing as no one here -- employees or customers -- really has any clue what U's future plans are. :p

All US clubs are going to become *Alliance Lounges? Even the agent in the club seemed shocked about the news the other day and no she didnt mention "the good news". Maybe someone should at least let the agents working the club know whats going on since half of the cat is out of the bag. As an employee I love being one of the last to know, but then again, why should an agent working the club be advised on whats going on in the club?

Neither my contact at consumer affairs or the great agents in the PHL club know anything about this-they found out about the change from the web site!

In my humble opinion, it wreaks of another misguided cost cutting effort--it seems all these folks know how to do is tick off the employees and their best customers. Maybe this is Dave's plan after all!

Meanwhile they ignore the REAL problems.

My best to you all.
