During my visits to PHL and CLT yesterday afternoon I noticed that on more than a few 737's (both 300 and 400's), the Star Alliance decals ahead of the front doors look like they have been ripped off the aircraft, or otherwise shredded. In some cases they are not even recognizable.

There is no other apparent damage to any other signage on these aircraft.

Is there a problem with the decals?

Just wondering.

The decals would not hold up to the riggers of flight and peeled off. They were reapplied numerous times only to peel once again.

They are going to paint them on when the plane get repainted or in for scheduled maintenance.

Art,

This problem was hardly limited to the fleet of B737's....its happening on everything except the Star Alliance liveries.

This was an ill advised and poorly executed excuse of eyewash and wasted money.

U purchased 2 complete sets of Star Alliance decals for each Acft in the fleet...most of them did not last a month at best. Now we have most of them missing or hanging in only fragments after the investment in them.
