I have an interview with swa at las vegas macarren international airport on jan 10 2009 and i need some help with obtaining a position of ramp agent with swa. Please help me out with some interviewing tips and some advice that the recruiters like to here

Hi,

If it's a group interview, show some personality, also know WN's company profile and be the first one to answer the questions...

If it's a one on one, go to the interview with a positive attitude. Be upbeat. Also be upfront and genuine. Attendance is critical with SW. Tell them you are reliable, flexible and work hard. They really want to hear why they should hire you, how it will benefit SW if you work for them not how it will benefit you. They emphasize teamwork and helping each other.
Hope this helps...

Best of luck to you :)

I went for my interview in las vegas and it seemed like it went good but the recruiter and the supervisor told me that they will be contacting me with in 2 -3 weeks so what does that mean i didnt get the job or they like playing the waiting game

Well, if you are the type who thinks that you should be given an answer on the spot, you are either not very experienced at job searching, or your overblown ego came across in the interview and the answer is no, you didn't get the job.

You've been advised in more than one thread that you have started that there are extensive background checks that have to be done before the airline can offer you a job. As the job fair was with WN, I'm guessing that you were not the only applicant.

When they have done the background checks and the recruiters have a chance to sit down and compare notes about the applicants, they will notify you about whether or not you got the job. According to them, that will be in 2-3 weeks.

I definitely understand about the background checks the reason why i was asking was because i read on other forums that if they like you at the interview then they will fingerprint you, drug test you and start your background check all in the same day and then i hear different things on this website so i am little confused and your right im not that experienced with job searching because ive had a lot of jobs but none of them were serious to me but southwest is very serious to me, it would be my career so im trying to get as much insight as i can to prepare myself
