I think I'm going to take advantage of the Tuesday out, Saturday return seat availability (CLT-DEN) for a trip out to Keystone later this month. Any help with which, if any, condos to avoid would be appreciated. I'm looking for a one bedroom and it looks like the best deal is Soda Ridge.

Also, is anyone familiar with Rocky Mountain Blue? It's supposedly set up by the USAF Academy but the rates are no better than Expedia.com.... What gives?

thanks,
jm

Try VRBO.com--Vacation Rentals By Owner. It covers the whole nation, but there are a LOT of Colorado listings. Hint: If you find a condo you like, contact the owner and ask if the price listed on the website is absolutely rock-bottom, or if they accept bids for lower amounts. If the time you want to go is mid-week or low season, they usually will "deal."

We went to Breckenridge in early December. We had a VERY nice 2-bedroom condo--the complex included heated pool, sauna, and hot tub/whirlpools, underground inside parking. It was approximately 1.5 city blocks to the lift at Maggie Building (center of town). We paid approx. $700 for 4 nights, but that included the state tax, the cleaning fee, etc.

The website price was something like $250 or $300 per night, PLUS cleaning fee, tax, etc.

Thanks Jim, especially for the "contact the owner" tip.
