Don't know, Bob.

This line sums it up for many:

"Mr. Siegel's contract was established under a previous board of directors. The payout was in line with that contract."

We all have contracts "established under a previous board of directors", but that doesn't seem to matter in our case. I know it almost never happens in corporate America today, but the best thing for morale would be to see "what's good for the goose is good for the gander" play out just once.

Contract compliance by politicians, CEOs, and BODs don't apply to the "little people."

Winglet,

Unfortunately, all to often true. That reality makes statements like the company's all the more irritating.

That's nothing Goodwin from UAL got over 5M and was still an acting paid advisor with an office still at WHQ for 5 years. Now, imagine that!

Do not think any goodwill gesture will work at all PB....Moral at an alltime low and IMO seems to be beyond repair.

Bob,

"See this is what puzzles me. When I fly you'd never know the company has one foot in the grave and another on a banana peel."

Don't confuse professionalism with morale - I see what you see every trip. I am proud to be working with most of the men and women of U, and honored to be able to call some friends.

Then you come on here and suicide seems like the only answer.

Thats the reason customers arent allowed in the break rooms!
Seriously, once the door is closed, all h*ll breaks loose at times. I'm proud to say that most of the agents I work with know where and when to address "company" issues and they are not on the front line.

Regarding morale and contracts. Our contract says when there is severe weather and you cant get to work you are to be allowed to make up the day. Well Ivan closed bridges here and agents werent able to make it in. Now, because it hit on Labor Day (a holiday), some agents are being told they cant make it up even though the bridges were closed by authorities AND they will lose a vacation day because they did not report to work on the holiday per the contract. These are some of the same people who spent the day shopvacuuming their house to keep water out. We also had one agent who tried to get to work and ended up driving thru water too deep and damaging her car. These same agents were also told it would be an occurance that they didnt report to work that day. Great job on the morale front huh? Then they have the nerve on the next storm update (we've only had 3 the past 6 weeks) to add this on the bottom of the form..... BE SAFE.
UFB. Yeah, morale is running high around here PB!

When I think about that line payout was in line with his contract...to me sounds like discrimination. If you honor one contract, you honor all contracts.
