In addition to the London Heathrow services, Northwest will also continue to operate daily round-trip flights between London Gatwick and Detroit, giving customers two great options from the South East. All flights are now on sale.

More flexibility. More opportunity to earn Worldperks from London Heathrow!

I think you could very well see SEA-HKG/SEL/PVG/FCO/PEK. It's about time Northwest got serious about the Northwest...

DTW & MSP are expected but how did Seattle eneter the NW LHR mix ?

I've seen the new Dreamliner WBC...it's a smoker! (although I love the beauty we have now...I am tired of "sliding") Very 2001 Space Odessey. Once that is launched (Jan.09), I wonder which U.S. carriers will still be flying to NRT and LHR with "almost" flat inferior J class. It looks like NWA (new) Dal (with a new Flat J class) and Ual (vastly superior to the old angled faux-flat J class) will have the most competitive to LHR as theirs is the only ones on par with BA and VS.

The big difference I see in LHR is that the slot allotment will almost double by 2020 from 480,000 slots presently to 750,000 slots (BAA website) with new tech and runway (at least they can build) vs. No new runway at NRT. Thank goodness for NWA's 368 weekly slots! (those bad boys will be worth ten times what LHR is going for). The great kicker is the 5th Freedoms out of NRT unlike LHR.

I guess one mediocre arrival time out of three ain't so bad considering what new entrants had/have into Tokyo. (I guess they have to take what they can get...just like LHR). I guess we can always fall back on AF/KLM's 455 slots for additional freqs.

We've used 2-3 400s a day on the DTW-AMS line before in the past...I could see a 74-400 on both DTW/SEA- LHR.(summer) If the yield is good there will be expanded LHR as KLM has pleanty of slots to fork over for bigger JV revenue.
