True, but that is something to blame Republic for, not Northwest.
Republic had totally gutted the former Hughes Airwest system a couple of years before the fall 86 merger/takeover by NW, including the PHX hub that they built up in 81/82, only to dismantle by the end of 84.

It wasn't my intent to blame NW. Just a comment on how things have changed since that ad was aired (1979 or so).

Now if someone has a copy of the "peeling banana" RW/RC merger ad...
