Running a successful business is not rocket science. The things a business needs to do to succeed long-term are simple to understand, even if they are hard to execute. Unfortunately, the simple, straightforward approaches that form the foundation of most profitable business ventures often are lost in the blizzard of business-speak--terms such as "Six Sigma" and "re-engineering," invented to dramatize the process and make it seem sexier.
