LTU - Air Berlin has been at JFK now a few weeks now, and uses totally recycled plastic material on all main cabin items ie. balnkets made from recycled paper, inflatable pillows are sealed in a resealable bag, that the passenger has an option to take as a giva-away or throw out during ground cleaning.

AA should take a look at this stuff. It's a win-win solution all around, no laundry bills fro AA, no snot-, and thow up rags for the passengers.

AA could even sell them at the gate area on certain flights. $$$ As in added revenue.

Some pencil-neck from DFW should come out of their cubicle at HQ and check this stuff out. Remember that 's LTU, the planes are painted in TWA red, and the FAs wear black hot-pants.

Curious... does LTU have to submit cabin items to the same burn test requirements US carriers have to?

That might be the deal killer for the recycled stuff.

Knowing the "Green" crowd, my bet is the LTU supllies are flown in from Europe.

It kind of throws the whole "Green" savings out the window with the fuel used to ship.

Same goes for recycling. More than a few cases have shown that more energy is used to make ourselves "feel good" than doing it efficiently. I'm all for anything that is truely more efficient and less polluting.
