Can someone from JFK answer this question please. Now that the twu claims there will be no election, (I know there will be an election, just hear me out), do you think Bobby will be able to show his face in JFK and say that we all need to fight to get back what little gave away?

By the way, if he does show up please ask him about the SIC 1900. When do we get this responsibility back from the vendor?

Ken, You can go to www.twuatd.org and email Bobby this Question or you can go down to your Local and ask to phone Bobby to have a discussion with him.

I understand their was a meeting in JFK not to long ago and most were pretty receptive to openly discuss their concerns. Ken why dont you get more involved with the TWU like you do your website and propose some changes you feel need to be done. If the majority of the committee feels the same way than you should pursue them.

cio, your recent mantra of getting more involved with the twu is signs of dementia. Remember the "Change from within." slogan? I did try only to have the head of the atd, an UNELECTED position, tell me that the NWA AMT's fight for better wages and benefits WAS NOT OUR FIGHT! That did it for me. I resigned as a Shop Steward. I could not support a union that did not and does not support our profession.

What meeting in JFK was gless welcomed to? was it with management? If it was of course he would be welcomed. The twu, aka gless, little and gang, are the company's best friend. Heck their flags fly together! Now, if this meeting in JFK was with the Line AMTs he sold out I doubt seriously that he was welcomed at all. Perhaps you can elaborate on your understanding of this meeting.

I feel that I can better support our profession by staying involved with my website, www.amtausa.com, and promoting our craft than waste my time with an organization that fights against our craft.

Perhaps now that you feel the twu will not face an election you will step out from behind your alias. If you support something why should you hide?

Typical amfa rhetoric, Who said anything about Bobby being at the meeting? Ken if you were interest in promoting our profession you would be organizing the 10,000 amfa members employed at the third party maintenance centers!

Well I have been a shop steward for well over 10 years, I haven't given up and taken the easy road with no accountability. As for your web site Amfa has paid for your support! If you had any ethics, you would have declined the payments you recieved from Delle and co. Aren't you the one who support a person for the mechanic award who hasn't turned a wrench for 30 years?

My Alias has been the same for many years and most know who I am.

I didn't know your name untill your recent accident, (hope everything is going well in that department) but out of ethics on my part and not out of respect for you I won't use your real name. I spoke with a guy who worked with you and his opinion of your ability as a shop steward was that you weren't worth a ####. He said you always sided with the company.

Thanks for your concerns, but your information is not correct, One thing I have learned, you will not satisfy the membership 100% of the time. But I do believe and will continue to work for the best interest of the membership.

cio, I posted a question if anyone thought gless would be able to show his face at JFK. You responded with your understanding of a meeting in JFK where people were receptive. You gave me the immpression that gless was at this meeting.

Hiding behind an alias fearing people will know your identity is not a characteristic to have if you wish to speak about ethics. I do support Dell because he supports our profession. So he hasn't turned a wrench for 30 years. How many years has the twu's unelected atd head turned a wrench for?

The ONLY rhetoric being spewed is from twu posters. Why are there 10,000 3rd party members? Because it is YOUR sister unions, the iam & ibt, that first allowed the rush to outsource. I have helped inform those who wish to belong to a craft union, since AMTs have a craft, the best I can. I am not receiving money from the company like the twu does. My resources are limited. I will use them to the best of my ability.

Since you are such a supporter of our profession I await your membership in the AMTA. Just sign your name as cio to protect your identity. You would have been a great Founding Father of our country. I could just see your signature on the Declaration of Independence right next to John Hancock would be CIO!

twuer, I never said posting behind an alias makes a person unethical. Most, if not all BBs on the internet have identities other than thier real name. My point is if you believe strongly in a belief, aka union, and wish to be heard then state your name and speak loudly.

However, if someone uses an alias and attacks someone elses beliefs that is unethical and cowardice.

I did not start this thread to have it turn into an alias debate.

All know my stance on making negative comments behind an alias. We are professionals and should act, behave & perform as such.

There is nothing to fear but fear itself.
