Just minutes ago I was testing a new Linux server I setup with Asterisk (the fancy, free and open source enterprise-grade PBX) and decided to dial a few random numbers. I checked my voicemail, dialed a friend, and finally, AA's reservation line (1-800-433-7300).
Holy cow. Instead of the traditional AA greeting, I heard what sounded like a reservations agent clarifying a customer's phone number. I immediately hung up.
I seriously doubt this was an issue of "crosstalk" as I've never experienced such with my current termination provider -- they're rock solid. In any event, this could have been a serious security breach for the right person at the right time.
Weird.
