So I land at HNL today and what is the first plane on the ground I see ... a returned US 737 (or so it appeared from a distance) with the stylized flag half peeled off and the livery still otherwise intact (minus the actual US AIRWAYS name). Isn't there a policy that a plane be de-US Airwaysized before being returned to a lessor? Seeing that 737 was sad, to be honest.

I saw a ex-US Airways 737-200 at BKK about two months ago.

The Metrojet scheme was obvious, and you could faintly see the stylized flag underneath the tail paint.

Removing the Name and Logo's are all that is done. This holds true with most if not all OA. If you have seen any pictures of the A/C Graveyards you will see more of this.

that photo is not bad but boy it does hurt to see one your own planes in a different title! do the tail numbers go along with the logo and title? I'm asking that because I see that at my station Southeast has changed several of the letter code of the tail numbers on the ex usair dc-9s

When Eastwind Leased N220US & N221US from US, the aircrafts flew around for monthes in our colors....

Interestingly, looking at more of Phuket Air's fleet, they also have/had a 747 in KLM colours, and more interestingly a YS-11 in that same Metrojet livery. I guess they liked it.

It was a cool scheme, really eye-catching. :( I still think the RJs should be red.
