Piemont To Close Syr Base

:down: Oct 20, Pedmont management anounced closure of the SYR base. The ten maint employees were given 16 days notice, base is to close on 7 Nov. These fellows provided maintenance for Mainline, Mid Atlantic, Chitaqua, Colgan, Midwest Express, not to mention the Piedmont operation and supporting raod trips across upper NY state. I wish them well, they will be missed in the system. The grand plan moves forward.

How sad. Pretty soon there will be nothing left of the Allegheny I used to work for. When i was a FA for them we had crew bases in BWI,ISP,SCE,MDT,BGM,ABE and SYR. LGA came after I left. It was such a great operation back them. I know alot of you in SYR and I wish you all the best.

Heard Harrisburg, LGA, and Philly are done too. All mechs will be offed Mid Atlanic with no senoirity and bottom of the scale. 13$ an hour. <_<
