Welcome to Phoenix. It's hot. (grin) Your timing is good because it starts to cool off around Labor Day and will be nice until mid-May.

I would suggest you contact either the union you will be joining or perhaps come over to PHX and see some of you future co-workers. There may be houses with rooms for rent or other deals that will get you going without a long term commitment. This way you can decide whether or not you like the work and scout out the area without worrying about a long term lease.

Good luck and feel free to PM me if ya need to.

There are also "crash-pad" ads posted in the breakrooms and luggage room on the Int'l concourse.

Welcome to PHX.

Do ya think they would let me in there long enough to grab a few fliers so I could fax them to him?

First of all I want to say thank you for your help and hospitality :)

Right now what I really need is some stability. Things in my personal and professional life have been all but that. In short, I'd like to find a place to rent... settle down and work as hard and as many hours as I possibly can.

I work alongside many Southwest employees right now and see first hand what good management and dedication from the employees can do to make a good company great, IMO Southwest is a great company.

In short... I'd like to find an apartment thats in a half way descent part of town that's affordable.

Thanks for your help,

CC

I wouldn't call our management here at LAX "good" but its probably better than what you're used to..

Actually middle management at LAX for US Air isnt that bad, but then I do my job and try to make theirs a little easier so they dont give me a hard time.

Its Upper Management back east thats driving U into the ground. They dont have a clue as to how to run an airline.

Plenty of affordable apts. in Tempe (since that's where ASU is), and it's a "half way descent" area, as well as being close to Sky Harbor.
Actually, it is the "descent" part of town when they're landing on 25/26!

hp_fa,

Sure. Try asking at the service center right next to the luggage room, or ask a crewmember entering/exiting for some assistance. Hopefully, you'll hit someone helpful on the first shot. ;)

colorado_cowboy,

I knew you'd find new friends and helpful people in your "new life" after U. Keep your gaze on the future and don't look back.

Good luck and take care....

Hi CC, welcome to that there Southwest Airways! I'm sorry your career is coming to an end at U. I, too, am the product of a bankrupt airline. At least I didn't have much time in at all; and got to voluntarilly furlough.

Here's to clear skies, profitable quarters, and a long productive career!

Welcome!
