One thing I took from the Analyst call was the improvements in PHL.
They mentioned working with the City, specifically the Mayors office and Dept of Aviation (Or something like that).

OTP for PHL was up over 20% for the quarter and mis handled Bags saw a 35% improvement.
Also an interesting note was that International flying will increase 15% for the next 4 years and I assume most of that will be out of PHL.

Have any of you folks on the ground experienced any of these improvements seen here in the 1st quarter?
One could only imagine how much money a nice, smooth and clean running PHL could bring in?

Wait! The PHL crew room on B-6 averages in the past few months over 85-90 degrees! Broken all the way back to last year. It's so hot the security door to the ramp has to be propped open with bugs flying in all over. We ask all the time why? For months and are told it's the PHL Airport authority and they refuse to come fix it. Bullcrap!

What ever happened to the brand new crew room on the end of B Con which has been in the works for so long?  Just bet the executive offices coming to Phl will not take that long!!!

the old express waiting area underneath b15 hasn't changed at all in the last year...it's just been locked. there's just a bunch of old chairs inside it... <_<

Don't get me going about the new crew room. Has anyone even seen a dump truck, dumpster or ANY KIND of construction going on? I have sat around that gate area MANY times and not even a sound of a jack hammer or drill. There is absolutely NOTHING going on down there. Dream on. You'll see that new crew room just as soon as you see US win a inflight service award.

I'm sure you'll see your crew room when customer service sees theirs.... we a living in a room that is barely 9x12 and has no running water to clean up(either your hands or the room) it gets cleaned whenever the mood strikes the wonderful cleaners we have.So we cram about 20-30 people in there trying to eat in a space that was originally meant as a storage room. They thought we could use the break room at the ticket counter, completely forgetting its at least a 10 to 15 minute walk each way. When you only have 30 min that really eats into your eating time.

Also after a meeting with Tony Grantham and the ramp and customer service last summer we asked if it was possible to to have a room somewhere in A east since its so far from A east to A west and sometimes you would work one flight in one and the next in the other....we'll get back to y
ou was the answer.....I'm glad I didnt hold my breath!!!!!

As for the new VP's?????I havent even seen them in Intl yet, not that I want them following me around but a "Hello my name is .......would be nice since Intl is supposedly so important.

Thunderstorm season is almost upon us; maybe we should hold off celebrating 'till we see what happens when that first buildup forms over Pottstown.

She's running like a fine oiled machine, a roll model for all other stations!!!

Maybe if we're lucky, this summer, a tornado will form and wipe out the PHL airport and force them to rebuild it. Well, I take that back. I'm sure they'd only use duct tape and garbage bags to fix it. That would make it only a little bit better than it is now...

I only wonder how profitable and awesome that airport could be if it wasn't so poorly run. most pax avoid it like the plague if given the opportunity.
