The number of block positions for May is 1324. There are appox. 475 f/a on leave or not available to fly. This indicates that the last primary line holder will be base number 1829. This equals to April-May of 1989. So it is a given that Reserve for Philadelphia will be around August of 1989. Also, this number will continue to dwindle as aircraft are returned. Things are even worse in CLT and PIT. If anyone is waiting for things to get better seniority wise forget it. We have seen our best days with this airline.

OMG, what are we going to do! Let's hope that the senior people are computer illiterate and won't be very active on the ETB!

At first glance I thought, wow whats the big deal. That is close to where my base is on reserve. Then I was thinking, you guys a straight reserve, or a rotation? Being on a rotation thats not so bad. Being on straight reserve, that would suck.

Bingo....

If anyone on these boards has any confidence that this airline will be around several months from now, you must be smokin' crack! So don't worry about your "seniority" strength.

I try to be optimistic, but with the maintenance division being setup like it is right now, it won't be long before lots of airplanes are sitting on the ground around the country. You can't fly unairworthy airplanes and you can't repair unairworthy airplanes without parts and manpower. The management of this company has not a clue.

We'll either liquidate or merge with or be sold to another carrier.

US will be around in some form or another. Whether we merge or not. Investors dont invest unless they see potential Plain and simple.

1989 wont even keep you on the property if you were a pilot.

Good one. Took me a minute to realize you were talking about the good ole USA.

What does it mean when old investors don't reinvest?

How about when latest investors seem to be investing for scavenging rights?

I'll bet David Bronner is really happy he "saw potential." Now he's "$250 million" lighter in the pockets.

AWAC's "investment" is in a DIP financing facility (junior to only the ATSB loans) which only converts to equity if and when US emeres from bankruptcy. Republic's "investment" is only a commitment to invest if the company reorganizes AND Republic approves of the company's business plan -- the purchase of the E-170's and slots seems to be a way to get some of the remaining attractive assets at US Airways at a bargain price.

No one so far has actually put up significant at-risk money without plenty of protection for their "investment."

ok, back to talking about f/a seniority possibly?

Most Junior block holder in PHL for May seniority date of 3 July 1989. But of course that is before secondary blocks. I am not sure how many there will be, but my guess is around 140 or so. That is based on Aprils figures (PHL added to PHW). Since I don't have an updated seniority list, I can't get an accurate number, but my best guestimate is that reserve will go to summer 1992.

Like I said, this is just an estimate, since I don't have an updated list or a copy of all the base transfers that have taken place since the last seniority list came out in Jan, this year.

Time will tell. If I'm right, then I can come on here like a certain someone and say who was the first one to tell you....... :p :p :p
