A few years ago I sat next to a US Customer Service manager who said that in order to minimize systemwide delays, US was planning on using the same equipment in and out of Philadelphia. So a departing flight from PHL would just turn around and return to the PHL hub

Does this sound right? Was it ever done? If so, was it successful in reducing system delays?

Revolutions,

Yes, Yes, and Yes. American. It's called "delinking" the hubs.

I wish we'd do it again. Both of our evening flights come from PHL and 5 of 7 days easily at least 1 if not both are late enough to bust conx (30 min minimum another barnburner idea) back into PIT. Since flights are sold out for days at a time right now, many of these customers get to experience a nice hotel in the PIT area for the night since limited holds are allowed on conx flights. Looks like tonight its going to be the second flight of the evening! Joy, cant wait to head to work.
