A woman died after being found under a motorized cart at the airport Tuesday.

A woman is killed at Charlotte Douglas International Airport. No, investigators are ruling it an accident, but don't know how it happened.

Joyce Miller, 29, worked out on the tarmac here at Wilson Air. Airport officials said they believe she was driving a motorized cart early Tuesday morning and somehow got pinned underneath it.

How? That's all part of the ongoing police investigation.

“It’s always a shock to have something like this happen,†Wilson Air Center owner, Bob Wilson said.

Wilson said he's conducting his own investigation and trying to figure out how his employee died.

“We have not seen any thing here in our procedures that we've made a mistake yet,†Wilson said.

Police said an employee called 911 around 2:30 a.m. after finding Miller under a motorized cart. Medics rushed her to the hospital and she was pronounced dead.

“Like anytime you lose somebody that’s a valued employee and friend it’s tough,†Wilson said.

Miller worked as a line technician directing planes, fueling them and more.

“She was good at her job,†Wilson said.

Now the small Wilson Air family is grieving her loss.

Management flew in relief workers from Memphis to help out with the daily operations.

“It was pretty solemn on the flight up here from Memphis there's wasn't a whole lot of talking and all a lot of thinking going on in the back of the airplane,†Wilson said.

Investigators are trying to determine if the cart was defective in anyway and they also told 6NEWS they are awaiting autopsy results on Miller.
