The first time I saw the agreement I asked the question if the freeze is lifted why don't I we get our 1.00 Jan. 1st
and was the date of the step raises going to be changed to start right away. I was told it should be. Now I read that nothing has changed but we got our 1.00 8 months early thats it you didn't get 5 holidays you exchanged it for the holiday pay. The ONE goal of the union was to get more dues and they won yes they won not you and me..

YOU DIDN'T EVEN GET TO VOTE ON IT!

As for me I feel raped by my own union.

Not that I matter to my union but I would have put up a little more of a fight I hear the company threatend to go to the NMB to have a run off vote and the CWA ran scared it shows how confident they are are of their own members and now I understand why.

What would have finaly been a little power was tossed away for what turns out to be more money in the hands of somebody besides the hard working employees a USAirways.

I cannot open the PDF file.
What I want to know is,what is the rate on the second to last year-75% maybe?

I liked the way they 'confused us' by givng the months timeline rather then yearly.

They SUCK!

I need the increase NOW,not in 2 yrs...

Losers..all of them.....

How can all this pass,if everyone says...get it says...they voted no?

My understanding from a Teamster steward, was the company didn't want us to have any raises until 2 years AFTER the completion of the merger! That would've meant working another 4 years minimum at what we are currently at. That would've meant stations, rez centers, etc working and doing same job at different rates for 4 more years! This was the ONLY way they could get the company to agree to ANY KIND of raises immediately.

Do I think it's unfair...YES. I also am in agreement with the earlier poster that we should've been given an opportunity to VOTE. Especially the America West employees who had already chosen their UNION in the Teamsters, yet were working without a contract to begin with. I'm NOT thrilled about taking on CWA "bankrupcy" contract either!

Information other than their "grand announcement" has been slim. Don't know when union dues will start coming out of HP paychecks. Don't think ANY should come out due to we didn't have ANY say in this whole thing! All we did was vote for the alliance of the 2 unions...this wasn't a VOTE for a contract however!

I've often wondered how we can fight this whole fiasco. YES, as stated by "golden 1" WE ALL NEED RAISES NOW! I've expressed my opinion on that months ago. BUT, we also need a say in the contract we want to be under. HP employees DON'T want CWA contract at this point. NO one has explained details of any of this, other than the "raises" being handed out over the next 2 years.

I have expressed to the teamsters my dismay on this verbally with a teamster negotiater. However, I am planning on emailing them also on this as well. Any other HP agents out there, I would suggest you do the same, as their website is pathetic, and communication absolutely stinks!

I REFUSE to allow ANY union dues out of my paycheck until a more further explanation as to what is going on is given, and I think we ALL should feel the same way on this! If it comes down to it, perhaps some media attention on all this is in order also ey? I want representation, but as in my government, I should have a chance to "VOTE" on the issues at hand. How DARE THEY do this at all without a VOTE. Perhaps an email to the NMB would also be advised as well.

How do you plan not to pay ANY of you union dues and keep your job?

<_< WE ain't getting that "raise" (if you want to call it that)till April 1st.

Hey:

If y'all boot your union, then you won't have
to rely on a raise that is negotiated by
other people. You can do that yourself.
Heck, it has worked for me any many other
"at will" employees for years. You should
try it sometime. You'd be surprised at how
easy it is to write your own ticket, as long
as you conform to the program and play ball
with office politics. If you don't know how
to play ball, then you probably need to work
somewhere else.

How do you plan not to pay ANY of you union dues and keep your job?

I understand we 'have' to pay...however, I don't believe anyone will be willing to do this until at the very minimum...April, when our .40 raise comes thru. The big stink to it all is just the point of having absolutely NO SAY in any of it...NO VOTE..no say. That's the sad part about this. Also they say there will be other "...provisions of the CWA US Airways passenger service contract by 6/1/06, or send all unresolved issues to arbitration."...What "provisions" are they discussing here? Where is the INFORMATION from the unions on this? How do we go about "negotiating" with our own union representatives to make our voice known? We need meetings...stretched over a few weeks, to give everyone's scheduling a chance to come, to ask questions, express opinions, and to get answers from our UNIONS! Or should I say our "alliance"?

>>>Well, I think now i understand why we have been "swept under the carpet" you might say by the IBT. Found this on another thread....they sure are working their A*#*$ off to help the mechanics...but looks like they are gonna have a VOTE on what they want...think we all got swindled with this Alliance business...Align and WE will tell YOU what you are getting...without a vote...anyway...here's what I saw on another thread about mechanics contracts....)))

Poll Predicts Majority Turnout for US Airways Union Vote

Pensions, Wages, Health Care and Outsourcing
Top Workers' List of Concerns

WASHINGTON, Dec. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- A late November poll of US Airways
mechanics, utility, GSE and stock clerks predicts majority turnout for a union
representation election -- a strong signal that the issue will go to a vote of
workers.
The telephone poll of a random sample of US Airways workers showed that 89
percent of workers polled planned to vote in a representation election. The
National Mediation Board requires that 50 percent plus one member of any
potential bargaining unit must vote for any union to ensure union
representation.
In the poll, workers rated issues of concern in their US Airways
workplace. Those issues included pensions, wages, health care costs and
outsourcing. Workers said their responses to the recent poll were driven by
concerns about the airline industry's trend toward outsourcing of work -- and
by misleading information generated by US Airways.
"No matter what US Airways or any other union may say, as soon as these
workers choose the Teamsters as their certified bargaining agent, we will
begin bargaining an amalgamated agreement from the two existing contracts.
That agreement will protect all the members' work," said Andy Marshall,
Secretary-Treasurer of Teamsters Local 104 in Phoenix. "The results of this
poll show us that we are one step closer to beginning that process."

Founded in 1903, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters represents
more than 1.4 million hardworking men and women throughout the United States
and Canada.

NOtice on both links above...very informative isn't it?! LOL! Yea right...it's pathetic that at this time I have to pay these people for this kind of communication! This is what I can't stand! If US AIRWAYS mgmt is so bad, then how come daily we have communications regarding issues, changes, sked issues, etc...it's because they CAN communicate to their employees. I'm tellin' ya'll, we need to demand more from the unions as to better communication also! Not just our company that we work for. If they represent US then talk to US, communicate daily, or at the very least weekly. OH, and let US have a VOTE in what we are "contracting" to do.
