Northwest's November Air Traffic Up 10.7%

EAGAN, Minn. (Dow Jones)--Northwest Airlines Corp. (NWAC) said November traffic rose 10.7% to 5.77 billion revenue passenger miles from 5.21 billion a year earlier.
A revenue passenger mile is one paying passenger flown one mile.
Domestic traffic rose 9.5% for the month, and international traffic fared even better with growth of 12.3%. Within the international segment, flights across the Pacific Ocean rose 8.9%, while flights across the Atlantic jumped 19.3%.
Load factor, or percentage of seats filled, was 77.7% for the month, up from 76.3% a year earlier, the carrier said in a press release Friday.
For the 11 months of the year to date, Northwest said it flew 67.14 billion revenue passenger miles, up 7% from 62.74 billion a year earlier.
Load factor for the year to date was 80.4%, compared with 77.2% a year earlier.
