If it were a "Pure" AA hub being scaled back you can bet the numbers would be in the crapper.

By whatever name you wish to refer to it, STL will continue to out perform not only ord and dfw, but other "focus cities" such as bos, lga, lax, as well. The spirt of stl lives on.....regretably it will live without many of the fine individuals working there that made it what it was...but those who remain will no doubt carry on the tradition of teamwork and performance previously established. Those displaced from stl to other cities will make positive impacts in their new locations.

In addition, the teamwork and performance of those working for AAC carriers in stl should also be recognized and have a large part to play in stl perfomance stats in their own right.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. When this downsizing was announced, the first thing AMR did was to put police on guard in all of our work areas. They must have thought we were a bunch of kids going to destroy the place. I think we have shown AMR what a mistake this will be. I work with professionals on both sides of the issues at hand, TWA and about 50 native AMR. The standards we set over the years will not change. I'm just sorry that AMR didn't recognize what they had because after Nov 1, those will never be regained. We will leave as the best performing hub and also with the record for the best one day baggage handling ever in the history of AMR. This was set in Sept. of this year. Thanks you to all that respected our attempts to try and help improve AMR. Our time just ran out.

STL AMTs have done a great job. They are just like ANY AMT in the industry... skilled and professional. It matters not what color shirt or hat we wear. We ALL became AMTs to provide safe aircraft. We have all become AMTs because of a combination of a love for aviation and the challenge of repairing a multi-million dollar aircraft that our families and other families will fly on. I did not spend the time and energy to become an A&P to bicker with other A&Ps. The fact remains that TWA AMTs were screwed by bad company management and even worse union management. But through out the TWA AMTs remained skilled and professional. If/when STL turns into a RJ hub is up to the company and the twu to fight (LOL). If one station "out performs" another that is no reason to take snide shots at each other. It merely sets the bar for others to reach. That is what OUR profession is about! We had a TWA AMT come to SAN last year and he was NEVER treated any differently than any other AMT, either new hire or AA transfer. We are professional. TonyB, the X-TWA people are not where your fight is and I fail to see your point in degrading them. You are showing a loser mentality and I personallty take great offense to your attidude towards them.

I know there will be people like you in all walks of life be it in the AMFA, TWU, or GHRMS (Grannies Home Recipies Made Simple). You also have the right to your opinion and the freedom of speach. I will fight for your rights even though you may not be worth it.

As much as I dislike having to put the slam on an AMFA supporter, this has gone to far!!!
