New Routes: Rdu-aus/pvd

Double-daily Raleigh-Austin starts on 1 October 2004, and triple daily Raleigh-Providence starts 1 July 2004. All on ERJ-140s.

Also, Miami-Dayton, OH and Miami-Memphis service is pretty much a go, though not uploaded up. Double-daily RJs to both is what I hear.

Thanks for the update. Hope we will see a press release soon. PVD finally seems to be on AA's radar screen. Since November we have seen 1 new S80 to DFW, 1 additional S80 to ORD (5 total) and now 3 RJs to RDU. I hope S80 MIA service will be next. The only problem I see is available gate space in PVD. AA already has 3 S80 RON and now a RJ.

It says ERJ-135s to PVD and the ERJ-140s to AUS.

In addition to these new routes, and MIA-DAY/MEM, look for a daily DFW-NAS service (CR7) to be loaded in soon. Also, I've been hearing Eagle will fly twice-daily MIA-RDU and MIA-CLE to compliment (not replace) existing mainline service on the routes (CLE would go 3x daily, RDU 5x daily). The latter to are still just early rumours.

Its still too bad that AA's pilots (union) rolled out JI's coffin because their service is surely missed at RDU. Sometimes protectionism (greed) does not get you what you want, in fact in this case no NEW net flying for AA's pilots, only for the lower paid AE and ACX pilots.

Just hope that AA carried a lot of PVD-MIA traffic through RDU. They will be keeping a close on eye on that. PVD-MIA may happen in November, but not before that.
