Not only that, but CMH and CVG are much larger markets. I was shocked (although very happy) that MIA-RIC is starting off at daily. Though even more shocked they choose Richmond over larger markets like Norfolk/ORF and Greensboro/GSO. None the less, this is great news and a sign of many more Southeastern Eagle routes to come.MiAAmi said:Interesting that they make RIC daily right off the bat. CMH and CVG have been doing extrememly well and are still just weekends only. Maybe we will get more announcements on CMH and CVG later.
I really doubt that AA mngt was worried about losing the RIC to MIA market to a "possible" Jetblue start up there. Maybe more worried about DL snatching up all the smaller cities to Florida. At any rate the build up of Miami continues.G4G5 said:Or could it be that AMR mgt heard a rumor that JetBlue was planning on starting Richmond service?
Not for a while, IMO. AA is probably still better off rotating the RJs/crews from other locations.MiAAmi said:With all the new RJ start up at Miami, any word on whether RJ crews will be based in Miami soon?
This Sunday, both MIA-MSP and MIA-IND went out more than 95% full, MIA-PIT about 80% full. IND is the best performer so far, selling out frequently. MSP is doing very well. PIT's loads are the lowest, but even PIT, averaging loads in the mid-70% range, is doing really well. The CMH and CVG Eagle flights, though, are never leaving with an empty seat. They are filling up consistently. Even the new MIA-RIC flights are doing very well. Some flights are already more than 60% full even though the flight was just announced. Of course, as we all know, loads are not an indication of profit. However, full planes certainly are not hurting.Wild Onion said:Any word on how the new mainline nonstops are doing out of MSP and IND?
